Market Harborough Building Society helps
Brad Get On Track!

The Market Harborough Building Society has increased their sponsorship to kart driver Brad Fairhurst in a bid to help him compete in the Easykart World Championships in Italy.

This is the second year the Society has sponsored Brad after the fourteen year old achieved great success in 2007.

After Brad finished the Cadet series in 2007, he moved up to the Junior Easykart Championships which meant he had to get used to a bigger kart and faster speeds of up to 80mph. Despite the changes the young driver is having an impressive first year with four podium finishes and is currently lying 3rd in the Championship, and although there is an outside chance of moving up to 2nd, his priority will be to keep this position.

This all means that Brad seems likely to be given the wild card entry to the World Championships that will be held in October, where he will be competing against drivers from the UK, Italy, Poland, Japan, USA, Germany, Greece, Venezuela, Cyprus, Columbia and Russia. Once there all the drivers will be given a brand new kart to use for the three days, all fuel will be sealed and supplied along with the tyres so everyone has an equal opportunity.

This could be a chance of a lifetime for Brad but he can only enter if he can raise the £2,500 needed. Neil Williams of the Market Harborough Building Society says ‘The Society is delighted to have had the opportunity to sponsor Brad in his racing. He is an amazing driver and to have the opportunity to be at the World Championships, in his first year in Easykart racing, is a reflection of Brad’s driving ability. We hope that he is able to raise the remaining entry fee and everyone at the Society wishes Brad every success in Italy.
