Community Involvement

Your Society is committed to supporting and serving its local communities.

Here are some of the ways we get involved;

The Society provides financial support and practical assistance to local charities and organisations through its associated Charitable Foundation and the Society's Charity Day Off scheme, which gives all members of staff a day off each year to work with local charities and good causes.

Alongside the Charitable Foundation and Charity Day Off scheme, we also get involved with many local community based events covering a range of activities.

River Litter Pick March 2017
MHBS support MHEG River litter pick
Despite the dreadful weather two members of the MHBS team joined the Market Harborough Environment Group (MHEG) on Thursday 27 April 2017. They collected:
- 2 trolleys (1 Homebase, 1 Waitrose),
- 1 bike,
- lots of heavy metal,
- branches galore,
- a traffic cone,
- an ‘A’ frame, and
- 20 bags of rubbish.
It's a great opportunity for us to support the local community and help keep Market Harborough a beautiful place to live and work.

Easter Bonnet Parade
Easter Bonnet Parade 2017
The children from Progress House Nursery had made their own Easter Bonnets, they met up outside the front of the Market Harborough branch. They then put on their bonnets and got ready to parade around the square – 3 times! The weather was ideal for them. Once the parade was over they handed in their bonnets to Market Harborough branch where they were displayed. Members of the public could pop into the branch and vote for their favourite.
Nevaeh Hartley-Edwards, age 4, said ‘My favourite part was wearing my hat, I had lots of fun'.
